Wishing you the Sweetest Things

Happy Friday!! I need a weekend for sure.

I am so glad Cath extended the deadline for the recent Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab World. I got a chance to play along yesterday!

Here is the gorgeous trigger...

And here is my take...

I have had this Inkadinkado hummingbird stamp for ages but never inked it up! I love hummingbirds. We have tons of them zooming around our tree and yard every year. I love when they hover in mid air right by your face as if they are trying to talk to you! So I took the bird idea and bird colours from the trigger as well as the branch, but then added a bit more colour with my PTI Funky Florals set. And the sentiment is from MFT. I thought the "sweet" part and hummingbirds went really well together!

I also linked up with the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge this week: "into the woods" and A Passion for Papertrey challenge: "inspired by nature."

I used my heat gun to emboss the hummingbird and the white centres of the flowers. It was the first time I had used my gun since I "blew up" our electric fire place using it a while back when it overloaded the circuit! Not sure my hubby has forgive me yet!

Now I am off to plant the rest of my flowers before the next thunderstorm hits!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Dad it's your day!

I got busy making a few Father's Day cards this week. Perfect for Tammy's "put a cork in it" challenge over at LRW.  I was just itching for an excuse to use my new PTI lazy boy set! How cute is it?? And I thought a bit of die cut cork would add to the "manliness" of the card if you know what I mean.

Thanks for a fun challenge Tammy!

Need a Couch Day?

...well I certainly feel like that lately...must be this crazy weather.

I made this card for a colleague at work who works way too hard. I know she will like this for her birthday. I also decided to link up with the Simon Says Stamp challenge "Anything Goes" this week.

Happy Birthday Dorothy!

Happy Birthday-- Hope your day is fabulous

I had so much fun playing with my PTI product that I made a second card for the blog hop. This time I used this inspiration "bouquet builder" palette...

I used all the ink colours except Terracotta Tile and Harvest Gold, again because I don't own them. I dug out a Christmas set, Winterberry, for the leaves, and Funky Florals and matching dies for the flowers.  The sentiment is from a Boutique Border set. I matted my floral creation with some Melon Berry cardstock.

Some hemp cord and tiny pearls finished it off.

I also linked up with the Passion for Papertrey challenge: "inspired by nature."

Have a great weekend!

Sending you a Happy Birthday

I decided to play along with the PTI blog hop this month!

Here is the "bouquet" inspiration colours I worked with...

And here is my card! I used all the ink colours except Raspberry Fizz since I don't have that one. And I also used a bunch of my PTI stamp sets: Funky Florals, Heart to Heart 2, and Polka Dot Parade 2. I also used some Orange Zest cardstock and ran it through my crimper for a nice matte. Some bling and hemp cord finished it off!

Happy Saturday!

Indulge

Happy Friday! Here is another layout of Christmas in Florida. My hubby is enjoying a festive beverage in our front garden! Our pelican statue is keeping him company!

I decided to link up with Simon Says Stamp "Take a Picture" challenge. I put two polaroid frames in the top right, coming off the page, plus the little red camera die cut. It is a MFT die set I got at Simon. They are too cute!

Here are a few close ups...

The Good Life

I thought I would post another layout today! This one is Christmas in Florida. Here's my hubby enjoying the view from our lanai.

I decided to link up with the Simon Says Stamp challenge this week: "take a picture" for everything photo/camera related. I had to use my new Maya Road stamp set, that I bought from Simon BTW. It is all sorts of polaroid frames with different patterns. The one I chose is the herringbone to go with the paper at the bottom of my layout!

Remember This Moment Forever

This week the Simon Says Stamp challenge theme is "take a picture"...so anything to do with cameras, photos, film etc. I just love this trend right now.

I thought I would post a layout from our trip to Boston. I added a Studio Calico wood veneer camera to highlight how special these photos of that trip are to us.

And here are a few close ups...

A Week in Paradise

I had some fun in my craft room this week. Here's another layout I did of Christmas 2011 at our condo. I just love our back view. I take this same photo every time! This one was just after sunrise.

Here are a few close ups...that's "Bob" the resident alligator in the top right. It was always fascinating to watch him swim around. He has since been relocated from our lake since he was getting too big. We often wonder where he is now.  I added the little metal bird clip from Prima, since Bob often swam near the birds.

And I decided to link up with the Simon Says Stamp Challenge this week...Flower Power! We planted a hibiscus tree in our front garden at the condo a few years ago and it is so big and lush now! I love these little wood veneer pieces since they look just like the blossoms.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you are having a great long weekend!

Take Note

I thought I would post another layout of our trip to Boston. This time to another fav sports shrine for my hubby: Fenway Park!

I thought I would link up with the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge this week for "a little paper." I often make 12x12 layouts with 6x6 pads, but this time I used a full sized collection pack from Echo Park, but it had some many fun little elements that I ended up only using little strips or sections of paper here and there!

Here are some close ups...

Have a great long weekend everyone!

Best Memory

I went to a fabulous crop for charity on the weekend. The cause was worthy, the friends were plentiful and I got a few pages done! When I got home I was still feeling creative so I kept at it. Here is a page I made last night using great group photos from a recent family reunion.

I added some fun to the background with my PTI chicken wire stamp and my new Stamping Bella Java Spills set. So I decided to link up with A Passion for Papertrey background stamp challenge.

I also added some clouds with texture effect.

And because it was a gorgeous outdoor northern Ontario setting, I had to add some butterflies with my Martha punch. I linked up with the Simon Says Stamp challenge for "something with wings".

Mom

So here is another mother's day card I made this week, this one for my mom. Since my bad cold has left me feeling like my head is full of cotton balls, I needed to get some inspiration to get me started.

Here is the care I made...

I was inspired by Nichole Heady over at PTI on this gorgeous card. To add some texture, I crimped the entire background patterned paper and also embossed my polaroid frame with tiny dots.

I linked up with Simon Says Stamp and Show "inspired by" challenge again as well.

I know my mom will love it!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms!

Mother

This week I have been really sick with the nasty cold that is going around. But I found time to get to my craft room and make some mother's day cards. I badly needed some inspiration in my foggy sick state. So the cards I created were inspired by other talented crafters.

I made this card for my mother-in-law...

I was inspired by this card by Rochelle Washington. I just love those embossed chevrons on her background! Since I didn't have that kind of embossing folder, I die cut my chevrons first and then embossed them with tiny dots.On the inside I used one of my favourite sentiments..."you are a blessing to me."

When I showed the card to my hubby, he said "cool chevrons"! I couldn't believe he even knew that word! Seems we brainwash our loved ones into scrapbooking even more than we realise!!

I decided to link up with Simon Says Stamp and Show for  their "inspired by" challenge this week.

Happy Mother's Day to all those mothers out there and I hope my mother-in-law likes her card!

I wish I could lighten your load

My cousin's wife received some pretty devastating medical news recently. I popped this card in the mail to her this week just to let her know we are thinking of her. I linked up with Simon Says Stamp "Happy Mail" challenge this week. Hopefully this can bring a bit of sunshine...on the inside I used my trusty "sending you sunshine" stamp from YNS.

After I was done, I regretted I didn't emboss (maybe lines?) the white background behind the chair since it looks kind of plain here. Next time.

Hang in there Anne and know we love you!

Hope everyone enjoys the sunshine today!

Super Fan

I am excited to play along again with LRW this week...Jayne has a fun challenge to use tooth picks or lollipop sticks. Since I just had to squeeze more washi onto this layout, I made a couple of flags with toothpicks. Kind of went with the sports theme.

Here's another layout of my hubby at his Bruins shrine...

And a few close ups...

Thanks for a fun challenge Jayne!
