Fisherman's Wharf

I had more fun this week with MME and made this layout of the San Francisco waterfront.

Here's some closeups.

I decided to play along with Dee's colour challenge over at The Bug and the polka dot challenge at Use Your Stuff.

Dream

Apparently it has been a card bonanza at my house this weekend! Here's one more I made using the watercolour technique I saw from Dawn McVey on the PTI blog a while back.  It was really fun and easy.

I also decided to link up with the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge this week which is "No Rules." I figured watercolouring is all about painting out side the lines, so perfect!

Make a Wish

I thought I would take a break from the sunshine today and participate in the PTI August blog hop. The theme is all things fall and cozy. I started with herringbone embossing and added some fall themed PTI paper from my friend Avril. I layered some circles cut from scraps of leather and suede and topped it with a raw wooden button for a rustic feel. I thought this would be perfect for a birthday card for my dad in October.

Hard to think of the cool days of fall coming on a hot August day like today! But we know it is right around the corner.

It's your day

I had some fun last night playing with some of my new PTI products! I decided to make a card for the PTI fabric die cut challenge. I love using fabric on my projects and it cuts perfectly with PTI dies. What more appropriate die to use than my new dress form die?! I also cracked open my new fillable frames stamps and die.  I made this card for my mom since she is a huge sewer and quilter. I think she'll like it.

Lombard Street

I created another layout last night! Here's Lombard Street in San Fran last summer. Very cool.

I decided to play along with the Paper Mixing Bowl. I have been wanting to try one of their challenges for ages. The recipe included following a sketch, using green prominently, to journal about travel and to use several "utencils." I chose burlap, a postmark (my World Traveler stamp), plus lots of torn edges.

I also linked up with Simon Says Stamp and Show again for "favourite technique." I am loving all things hexagon lately. So I sponged some gesso onto the background with my Crafters Workshop 12x12 reverse chicken wire stencil. Then I randomly added swipes with my new PTI chicken wire background stamp. I love how it turned out!

You are Here

I got messy in my scrap room again. My hubby is away this week so you know what they say...

These are some great shots of the Opera House in Sydney. I was inspired by the sketch this month at C'est Magnifique. And the Simon Says challenge this week is to showcase your favourite technique. Well rolly roses are one of my fav go to techniques. I rolled a few for this layout using my MFT dies and Imaginesce rolling tool.

Here's a few close ups of those flowers...

Winter skies over Sydney

I have had this layout in progress on my desk for days. I thought I had better get it done! I love this shot of my hubby outside the Opera House with the Sydney Harbour Bridge in the background.

I decided to do the Once Upon a Sketch challenge this month. The theme was "seasons" so I thought this shot of Sydney in winter was perfect. We had great weather there last July, only a few cloudy cool days like this one. I also played along with the Simon Says challenge to use paint. I splashed white paint on the background plus I crackled with Studio Calico wooden letters and Prima chipboard flourishes.

Sweet

I spent the day with my dear friend Avril yesterday and she knows where all the great scrappy shopping is! So I had to come straight home and play with some of that crafty goodness! I used some MME papers, PTI stamps, dies and inks and Dear Lizzy AC ribbon to make this baby card for my friend Jen.

Pretty cool! Thanks Avril for the fun day and congrats Jen on your new daughter!

It's your day

It's been a while since I posted. We were away in BC for a little holiday. Lots of fun! I had a bit of time to scrap when I got back and cracked into my new PTI Friendship Jar set I won at the recent PTI crop. What a generous prize! I was thrilled to win. I made this birthday card for my aunt in Newfoundland. It is her birthday next week. I also inked the background with my new PTI chicken wire background stamp.

Happy birthday aunt Pat!
