With Flourish

It is my turn to issue a layout challenge at Two Scrapbook Friends. I love flourishes and realised how many different kinds there are, stamped, stitched, bling, pearl, die cut etc.

Here's a layout of a vinyard along the Rhine in Germany. I used a Tim Holtz grungeboard flourish along with a hand cut one and some stitching.

Add some flourish to every layout!

Friendzy Friday-- Crinkle Flowers

It is my turn to do another Friendzy Friday for Two Scrapbook Friends. I love to try new ways to make flowers for my pages. Here are some flowers to make by crinkling up paper.

You will need die cut flowers in 2 graduated sizes, a mist bottle filled with water and liquid adhesive.

I cut three medium and three smaller flowers.

Mist your flowers until they are quite damp. Then while they are still wet, crinkle them up into little balls.

While they are still wet, unroll each flower, except one smaller one.

Let them dry. Then layer your flowers, adhering with liquid glue. Top your layers with one of the rolled up smaller flowers. You will have to hold the flowers down with your finger for a few seconds to make sure they adhere. For a fuller flower you can use many layers, or only 2 or 3 like I did. Your choice.

Here is a flower on my February DT layout using Bo Bunny Crazy Love.

Have fun with these and show us your finished products!

TSF Easter Blog Hop

Hey All!

Welcome to the Two Scrapbook Friends Easter Blog Hop!

Here's how it works...You can start from the 2SF's Blog or the 2SF's Forum and you need to visit each of the 7 team blogs and leave comments on their Easter projects. You have until 8pm on Thursday, April 14th and we will announce winners on Friday morning!

Also, there will be areas in the 2SF's Forum to chat and link up your own Easter projects to earn extra buttons! Don't know what buttons are? Visit the forum to find out!

For my Easter post, I decided to show our new Easter tradition...heading south to Florida for the long weekend! We started this last year. And we also cashed in points to fly business class! So this year we are doing the same thing. I can't wait.

I made this double page layout using BoBunny and Scenic Route products that I got once upon a time in a kit. I made accordian flowers and added some hand stitching using a circle template.

Here's a close up of the stitching and accordian flowers.

Thanks for stopping by! Now hop on over to the rest of the blogs and check out the other TSF team Easter projects.

Happy Easter!

I Received an Easter Card...

One of my students gave me a lovely card she made. She also gave me a Valentine's card back in February. She made my day...twice! It is so nice to know that my students appreciate my work, and to have it honoured with a homemade card...well that is just the best!

Isn't it gorgeous? I love the sparkly paper, the tulle bow (all the rage right now), the coloured stamped image, the little "popped" butterly and the Glossy Accents.

Thanks Janelle and Happy Easter to you too!

Card Challenge- Rub Ons!

It's my turn to issue a card challenge this week at TSF. I don't know about you, but I have lots of left over rub ons. And sometimes I don't want to dirty up my stamps. So I dug through my stash and found these rub ons from Melissa Frances that I have had forever. I added some Kaisercraft pearls and BG chipboard and voila...a fun card to thank my BFF for a wonderful night out!

Show us your rub ons!!

April DT Reveal

This month we received an extra special package of goodies to work with for the TSF design team. Here is all the fun stuff I played with! The papers are My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose "Mabel" line. There was some card stock, tulle, bling from Basic Grey, a "tube" and a Beyond the Page wooden project from Kaisercraft.

These papers were perfect for some photos I had of our trip last summer. These first two layouts are of Stockholm. Such a special place in my heart for that city! I added chipboard letters by MME, a chipboard element from Scenic Route and some lace.

For this page I added some bling, lace and hand stitching as well as Jenni Bowlin mini alpha stickers. I also tried some machine stitching but am not very happy with it. I think I may need thicker thread?

These next two pages are from Linz, Austria. For this "Family" layout I added the wooden heart (sprayed with Coffee Glimmer Mist) and I made the blossom out of the tulle and added seed beads to the centre.

For this one I also made the blossom out of tulle and added the chipboard elements by Riff Raff.

For the Beyond the Page project, I received the "Handbag Tidy" to construct and decorate. It was a bit tricky to piece together. I used Glimmer Mist and Smooch spritz on the wooden pieces first. It is a pretty little holder for my scissors on my craft table!

And finally the tube!! I decided to make a little time capsule for my desk to remind me of my favourite Florida beach. I filled it with sea shells, adhered one to the top. I glued twine around the top for a "mooring post" look. The tube is glued to a chipboard base which I sprayed with Coffee Glimmer Mist for a "beach" look.

You have to check out what the DT ladies did this month with these Beyond the Page projects especially. Wow. They blow me away with their creativity every month! Go to the Gallery to see! You will be amazed too.
